My son has a notebook with no CD drive. I want to install my Office 2003
(which has 2 installations left) onto it, without having to buy an external
CD Drive. Can anyone tell me how to do this via the internet, please?

You cannot
1) external cd drive, which you will need when you have to recover your o/s
(you do have, or are going to make the recovery cd's?)
2) via a network installation
3) Copy the installation cd to a usb thumb drive

To clarify a point which is often taken wrong, you can have Office 2003
(Student and Teacher, I assume) installed a total of 3 places at one time,
or however many installations are allowed in the license. Read the EULA
under Help, About if you are confused on this point. Many people think that
if they install it on three computers (or two, or one, depending on the
specific product license) they can never install it again. That is only
true for the OEM version. What this means is that if you get rid of one of
your computers, you can uninstall Office and install it on the replacement,
without "using up" another installation.

To answer your question, there is no place you can install it from on the
Internet. The best solution is to copy the CD to a USB drive, and install
from there. You may want to purchase an external USB DVD drive, which can
do the same thing. Either way is cheap. If you have a LAN, you can also
share the CD on your desktop and install from there. The last one is what I
usually do in this situation, because I have a LAN in my house and three
desktops that are running all the time.
