I have two computers running Windows 7, one a 64 bit Pro version, the
other a 32 bit home pre version.

I run ACDSEE on both machines and one of the things that ACDSEE can do
it resize and email picturs for you. In the setup of this function in
ACDSEE there is a place where you select either SMTP or your mail
client. In windows Vista you could go to default programs and select
your default mail client and then in ACDSEE that client would show up
as a choice along with SMTP. I use BECKY Mail and in both of my WIN7
installations, even after selecting Becky Mail as my default mail
client, acdsee does not see Becky as a possible, only SMTP. Maybe this
is not a windows issue, instead an ACDSEE problem.

Does anyone know of a problem in this default mail setting?

Thanks,
Gene

It is....ACDSee is not fully Windows 7 compliant. Quote from ACDSee Systems
Customer support: "... we have identified usability issues ... ACDSee Pro
2.5 was not developed for use on Windows 7, and it is not supported under
this operating system"

That is assuming that op is running ACDsee Pro 2.5. ACDSEE photo manager
Version 12 is compatible with Windows 7.

When the OP does not supply relevant information one has to assume that he
is using earlier versions of ACDSee Photo Manager or Pro that have not been
certified for Windows 7. As you point out, Photo Manager 12 has. Pro 3.0
also has. He also neglects to mention the version of Becky mail he is using
as well, and this could also be an issue. What is almost certainly not the
issue is Windows 7.

Sorry about not being clear with my basics. I'm running 3 on the 64
bit win7 and 2.5 on the 32 bit win7. I have Paint Shop Pro ver 13 on
the 64 bit win7 also and it to has the same issue with a twist. When I
select to email an image from PSP, it tells me I don't have a default
email program set and if I click continue it opens a send window in
Becky with the picture resized and attached. So PSP works but it does
not know it's going to work. ACDSEE just plain does not see the
default mail program as set.

Beating a dead horse here I guess as some say ACDSEE has issues with
win7.
