Featured Forum Enhanced

The code for the featured forum widget is finally in good shape for others to modify. The basics are in the code so a designer is able to match the forum information to the website. It's a raw widget but functional.

Such widget would be improved if you could use it under a news post. In the news post you could specify a forum and only from these forums posts will be shown. Or combine it with the id of the thread of the post, only threads form the same forum should appear.

This will work already by using Jetpack's visibility feature for widgets. Add the widget, choose the forum in the widget, and set visibility to the category matching the post.
