Is it possible to configure the IE 8 favorites like it is in IE 6? Have them
listed in a tree like IE6 instead of the ;ong list in IE8?

It's a drag having to scroll through the hole long list'

Not sure what this is in reference to...
So I guess, in this case, for me it's more a matter of "WISIWIDG"
( What I See Is What I Don't Get )

You might prefer IE7, Dick.

In IE6 if you pressed Ctrl-d there was no option about where the Favorite
would be added. It just went into the root and would have to be moved
from there. So the only significant difference you have in IE7 and IE8
from that angle is that after pressing Ctrl-d you also have to press Enter.
OTOH that delay at least gives you some measure of confirmation
that your Favorite is being created. In addition IE8 provides the new
Add to Favorites Bar button which has the function of both the simplicity
of the old unconditional Ctrl-d function and some feedback for its operation
(e.g. a new button added at the start of the Links bar which can then
be dragged to a more permanent location.) BTW that function was also
available to IE6 users but only by dragging from the Address bar to
the Links bar and probably was not well known. In any case dragging
from the Links bar may be seen as easier than dragging out of the root.

Open Favorites in its own Explorer window; navigate to your target folder
if desired; (or have a short Desktop shortcut which opens Favorites at
your target shortcut); drag from your Address bar to the Explorer window.
That functionality is also unchanged from IE6 to IE8 and is still easier
to use than any dialog in adding a Favorite directly into a specific subdirectory
IMO.

I find it convenient to make folders in my favorites, each one a page long.
That way I don't have to scroll.
