Favorites placement in IE8

Using WinXP. In earlier versions of IE, when I bookmarked more than one
webpage during a session, the default folder for placing the bookmark was
the last one used, and of course I could change it if I wanted to. Now, in
IE8, the default is always "Favorites," which means I always have to change
it to the folder I want. Is there any way I can change that default? I
checked Internet Options | Advanced, but I couldn't find anything there.
Thank you!

It is a pain but I have never seen any way around it.
No idea why it was changed.

What happens when you change the default folder with TweakUI by
Microsoft?

My Computer
Special Folders
Select "Favorites" from the drop down menu
Change Location (button)

Hi, Bill,

Could you give me an idea of why changing the location for the Favorites
folder would matter in this regard? It seems to be an issue of how Microsoft
has chosen to handle placement of new websites within Favorites. Or am I
misunderstanding what "Change Location" would do?

Thank you!

I am sorry, I thought that is what people wanted to do.
