Our small town publishes a weekly newspaper using Winows Publisher which is
then loaded to the internet using Publisher.
    See http://home.exetel.com.au/ctcsussex/paper.htm

It opens with the right-hand menu in Firefox but in IE8 the right-hand menu
does not appear so visitors can't browse the remainder of the paper.

It seems strange that a map MicrosoftOfficeMap0 can't be read by IE8

We are loath to advise those who complain to download Firefox.

    Anysolutions please.

    Hi,
    This *may* be fixable.
See: 969705- Navigation bars and other content is missing from Publisher
HTML output in Internet Explorer 8: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969705

    Hope this helps,

Windows Publisher is not a good tool for creating web pages. (It /is/ /possible/ to
insert a screw with a hammer but the results are better with the _proper_ tool. That
page is at least ten times larger then needed to display the content, maybe fifty
    times larger.

Validation results, using Firefox with HTML Validator extension. Results would be
very similar from the W3C validator web page. Hidden errors would not cause display
problems. Definitely not the most errors I've seen but it isn't how many but what
effects they have that is important.

    <results> (Snip in replies please)
    Result: 36 errors / 0 warnings (42 hidden)

Don's suggestion may help with the immediate problem but an invalid page might
suddenly become unusable when the rendering engine of any browser is updated.
