Enabling autorun for USB flash drives

Hello,

I have a question about the Autorun feature. I want to enable autoplay
for a USB flash drive inserted into a USB 2.0 port. However it seems
the feature is disabled on certain client PCs. The operating system is
Windows XP Home for a few systems, but Windows XP professional for
others. I have set up on the XP Pro systems a group policy through
GPEDIT.MSC which does the following: Computer Config-Administrative
Templates-System-Turn off Autoplay.

I would like to develop a simple installer or autorun.inf installer
which will enable autoplay, or if this is not possible, a script which
will enable it. What I want in the end is the end user to have to do
the least amount of steps/interaction for this to take place. Then
once the autorun works, to run an installer (i.e. Teamviewer to
automatically install on a PC).

Thanks for any suggestions,hints.

Safer to teach them how to browse to the exe file themselves.
I wouldn't have autorun enabled on any of my drives.

Gazillions of Windows Updates have been released to disable AutoRun on
removable drives due to security issues (i.e., hijackware infections)! Best
leave that alone, bucko.

I believe in giving people what they want.

Download a [very] simple .inf setup file that will re-enable AutoRun for
all removable media.
