Rubbish. The BT disc installs nothing that affects your connection.

In which case you already have IE8, and my first reply to you gave
instructions on how to remove the Yahoo branding.

I repeat, see my first reply to you and follow the instructions to remove
the branding. Remove the Yahoo toolbar and you should then be sorted.
