Even after I use the "clear browsing history" button under
tools > options > general > delete browsing history, the
following happens: If I start to type a search term into
the upper right window, for example if I start to type
"autos" as soon as I type the a a list of previously used
search terms that started with the letter "a" appears. Same
with other letters of the alphabet. How can I remove that
portion of my browsing history that appears whenever I start
to type a new search term?

Thanks.

Hi,
Try disabling Search suggestions. Click the down caret by the Search Box>
Manage Search Providers> select a Search Provider, if Search suggestions is
enabled right-click> Disable.

Also, on the Delete browsing history screen, uncheck (at the top) Preserve
Favorites website data.)

If the Google toolbar is installed see:

Hope this helps,

Did that - problem persists.

Disable all AutoComplete options *and* rebuild the Windows search index.

Further questions:

1. Since you say disable "all" AutoComplete options, that
suggests there is more than one place I should go looking
for those options. How many might there be, and do you have
any suggestions where I might find them?

2. You say I should also "rebuild" the Windows search
index. Do I have an option? It looks like that happens
automatically, although I have no use for it and would like
to disable it if possible.

Thanks for your continuing assistance.
