Defrag errors

I have been trying to defrag my computer, just as normal upkeep and it keeps
stopping early citing that certain files could not be moved/defragged. I
looked at the analysis file and they are all One Note files.

I tried optimizing the One Note files through the options section in One
Note, i.e. clean out the cache, etc. but it didn't effect my ability to
defrag later.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

To optimize the onenote files, don't use a defragmentation tool (they don't
understand the cache format, so can't optimize it). Just click tools \
option \ save and click "Optimize all files now."

This runs automatically and you can control how often it runs here.

You can also move the cache file to a different location (which will likely
cause it to move on the platters as well) if you want. Since it is a cache
file, I recommend just leaving it - think of it as kind of like the windows
swapfile...
