We have an application that runs IE 7 in kiosk mode and have recently found
that by doing a simple CTRL+N they can start a new browser which includes
the title bar / menu / etc that we don't want the user to have access to.
Is there any way to turn this off?

thanks
Pete

But hey, they say it is "by design" so what can you do?

Yeah it says you can "implement a policy to restrict the Ctrl+N
combination" but no hint whatsoever on how that should be done....

(cut the throat of any visitor who dares to do Ctrl+N on your kiosk???)

Yea I noticed that. Seems kinda odd that it was planned that way. Why
would you design a locked down system with such a blatent back door.

I find it strange too. But it may have been designed that way in the
days that Microsoft also designed "Bob".

In "Bob", when you mistyped your password three times in a row, it asked
you if you had forgotten your password and when you replied "yes", it
asked you to type a new password and let you in.

This was "by design" as well. It was supposed to be a userfriendly
system, after all :)

It looks like you can get away with anything, as long as you call it
your design.
