Converting measurements in a document

Does anyone know of a program to automatically convert measurements in a
document from, for example, US to metric systems? I'm looking for something
like this, even if it's not perfect.

Ideally what I want to do is pull all the measurements out of a document,
and convert them there, but maybe that's a little harder to find. Any ideas
at all, I'd love to hear them and I haven't found a thing yet.

Thanks!
Meg
