I am running Compaq.Which is a Presario.Also Windows XP.
Hard drive is 80 GB. I have a Drive C, and a Drive D. Drive C
has plenty of free space. But Drive D free space is about used
up. Drive D has a capacity of 4.95 GB. It is showing free space
at 937 MB. Is there a way to clean Drive D ? Thank You

Why do you need space on this particular drive?

you really need a partition
manager so that you can
resize that small partition
and make it larger.

however, to provide you
with a direct answer to
your question,

I would create a folder on
the c drive and call it something
like ddrive.

then move all the contents
on the d drive to the new
folder above.

What is on Drive D:? What do you mean by "clean" it? Do you want to
delete everything there?

Did drive D: come with what's on it now when you first got the
computer? If so, almost certainly, it's your recovery partition, and
it's there to let you reinstall Windows if you ever need to. You got
that instead of an installation CD.

If that's what it is, do not do *anything* to drive D:.
