Carbon Monoxide Kills One, Injures 16 more

High levels of carbon monoxide blocks intake of oxygen. The gas is colorless and odorless. Levels above 1000 parts per million were measured tonight on the Norton Creek Farms on Prentiss Bridge Road located in Macon county North Carolina.

One worker is reported dead, and Fox affiliate reported 16 others are injured from exposure to the gas. Eight emergency responders, including the fire chief, are hospitalized.

The cause of the leak is unknown.
