Cannot sync anymore

I have a windows mobile device that was syncing just fine with OneNote 2007.
Then, I installed Office 2010 and no more sync. I do not think my device
(windows mobile 5) will be able to sync to OneNote 2010. So I uninstalled
OneNote 2010 and reinstalled OneNote 2007. That worked fine. However I
still cannot sync. I get the cryptic message, "attention required". So far
I have done:
reinstall OneNote 2007
delete partnership and re-establish it several times.
delete and reinstall WMDC on host computer
remove all data from OneNote directories and cache and delete cache.
changed onenote directories to a different spot on hard drive.
I connected the device to a different computer and it syncs just fine there.
I tried syncing on a different user profile, no luck
I tried syncing with bluetooth instead of USB, no luck.
HELP! Please, anything to get this working again.

Did you update your notebooks (or at least your Mobile sync notebook) to
2010 format?

Tried to reply since Sunday but the web site was having problems. Anyway, I
do not know if the notebooks were updated. If they update automatically when
OneNote 2010 is started then they did update. I have since uninstalled 2010
and reinstalled OneNote 2007 and the notebooks work just fine. I just cannot
sync with my windows mobile 5 PDA. Please advise.

Wish I knew - unfortunately I'm not that familiar with the intricacies of
Windows Mobile sync. Sometimes it just seems to not want to work, and I
can't really explain why.
