I am trying to delete a program file for a program which I delted and I keep
getting the error message that access is denied. I do not know what is
causing the problem and how to correct it. Any help will be appreciated.

If this is a Windows protection function, you can bypass it by
deleting the file from a DOS prompt via DEL
or RD to remove the whole directory.

David,

Jim didn't mean "are you in safe mode", he meant "enter safe mode and try
deleting the file" ?

permissions

with a program file, you need to uninstall it rather then trying to delete it
first, as when deleting, it leaves all kinds of registry entries behind,
creates problems with associations lost files etc.

What's the program name?

Do you mean a CMD prompt while running windows, or do you mean boot to
real native DOS from a boot disk?

I'm not being tactful. I really don't know.
