can only play special features DVD disks

I can only play the special features DVDs that often accompany the film.
Older DVDs sometimes play. I've installed ROXIO's decoder plug-in with no
effect. I'm running Vista home premium with media player 11.0.6002

Hi, check if you have actually installed the decoder correctly and
that it's set as Default (it may not be if another decoder is
installed).

Also check it's not an expired Demo version of the Roxio decoder.

is a utility to check and modify the preferred decoder on Vista -
you're looking to find the Roxio decoder on the dropdown list, and
ensure it's set as Default using the button provided.
