Bounce

Flightless Bird
I used to use Mailwasher which gave the option to bounce mail. I see that
Win 7 gives this option, but I can't figure out how to use it.

Actions/junk email/safety options/blocked senders. At the bottom it gives
the option to 'bounce' the instructions being 'when I click delete and
block'

Where does one do that??? I can block and I can delete, but both at once??

Forgive my ignorance, but what email are you trying to bounce? Spam? I
don't understand the point of that, since it almost certainly comes from
a forged source or a forged address.

Does it really matter which mail I am wanting to bounce?
I just like to have the option.

It depends . . . if you have a reason to bounce spam, but bouncing spam
does not forward your goal while it does tie up resources, what's the
point? And bouncing spam causes a cascade of bouncing bounce messages.
Since the source is forged, your bounce likely goes to a bad address
that will generate a bounce message back to you, which you will bounce
as well.

And if the spammer is using some poor soul's e-mail address, like the
OP's, then continuous messages going there.

Not windows 7. That's windows live mail I think, which is a free download
and can be run on any windows operating system.

Actions>>Junk E-Mail>>Safety Options

"Blocked Senders" tab. The Bounce option is on the bottom.

I'm opposed to bouncing because I think it just clogs up the mail servers.
Half these bozos will be using invalid e-mail addresses so it suits no
purpose.

There should be a box next to that line of text where you click on it
and a checkmark appears. It may be difficult to see because of WLM's
color scheme.

Ahh I see. I didn't understant that, thank you. Yes, I am using windows
live mail. BUT I still can't see how to click on delete and block as it
suggests.

Thank you:) Yes, I know where it is, but I don't see how to comply. As I
pointed out, I can block, or I can delete, but I can't find how to do both
as it demands.

Why would you quit using Mailwasher?

Only because I thought that if what I wanted was incorporated into Live
Mail, I wouldn't need both:)

The big difference is that Mailwasher does the delete and/or bounce
before the entire message or any attachments download to your machine. I
like the idea of deleting things at the server first.
