Is there anyway to block certain email addresses from showing up in the NG?

If you're using a proper Usenet client to interface with the group the
tool is often called a Kill Filter or a BoZo list - adding Alias and
Frank and several others really makes this newsgroup readable.

I use Windows Live Email client to read news groups and don't see anything
to block these. There is a blocked email option but it has to be a valid
    email address.

Go to Tools, Message Rules, News... Click on New. Put a checkmark in 'Where
the from line contains people.' In the second section, checkmark 'Delete it'
and 'Stop processing more rules.' In the bottom section, click on the
highlighted 'contains people' and put the names in you want to block. Keep
in mind that whatever you put in will be blocked whether it is the whole
name or part of a name. For example, Tom would block me :(, atom, tomato,
    etc.

Stop using an email program and download a real Usenet client - they
have a better set of options and handle Usenet properly.

Depends on which email reader you're using on how you do it. In Windows Mail
and MS Outlook I think they both work the same, there's a selection under
Tools tab to do that. IIRC you have to type or enter the email address of
the person you want to block.
I'm using Windows Live Mail and with the message highlighted, from the
sender you want to block, you right-click and select Junk email, select
    block sender.

You don't bother to mention what newsreader you use, and I'm not in the
mood to go digging. So, I'll just say this:

Step 1: consult the help file.
