Set www.google.com as your home page.

You have to enable Tabs, and you have to tell the tab to open in the First
Home Page.

You can open multiple tabs by listing multiple URLs as Homepages. For
example, you can list www.yahoo.com, www.google.com, and www.msm.com, and
you will have three tabs open everytime you start IE. The first tab will
contain Yahoo!, and if you set New Tabs to display the First Homepage, then
those tabs will display Yahoo! also. If you want Google to be the first
homepage, then make it first in the list.

All of these settings can be found in TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS, General Tab.

Internet Options -> General tab -> Tabs settings
"When a new tab is opened"
Select "Your first home page" from the listbox.

Obviously you'll have to make Google your home page (the first one in the
list if you have multiple sites listed for home pages).
