I keep getting a message that says

Assert in LSP
original == reinterpret_cast<PROC>(instance->org_startup_)
assertion failed
capture\lsp\nolsp\wsp_patches.cpp:239

It pops up every time I ope IE. I can't access internet or my removable usb
drive or cd drive, so i can't even install new IE. I am helpless. I had a
trojan in my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A105-S4384) which i removed and then i
restarted the laptop and this problem started.

Every option I choose, it keeps coming back. It's so annoying!
I'm using Windows XP.

Please, please help.
Thank you

Hi tpal,

Take your machine to a reputable computer repair shop. It is futile for us
to try and give you verbal detailed technical assistance in this IE specific
newsgroup. Especially since you are obviously using another computer from
the one that has the issue.

You could start by starting XP in Safe Mode (without networking), but your
computer repair man will do that first anyway in their diagnosis tests.

Regards.

Have you got Google Desktop installed? If so, uninstall it.

Have you tried an IE reset? Go to Control Panel, Internet Options icon, then
the Advanced tab and click the Reset button at the bottom right (warning:
you will lose all saved settings, autocomplete form entries, passwords,
etc).

If the above two don't work, try a winsock reset. You'll need to run a
command prompt as an administrator account, and type the following:

netsh winsock reset

then reboot.
