Application Not Available

D

Dave Lee

Flightless Bird
IE 7
Windows XP Home SP3

When I try to download a file from the Internet I get the Dialog,
"Application Not Available."

Also, when I type a website address in the Address Box (Example
www.google.com") I also get the message, "Application Not Available.

I have gone through virus and malware scans and found nothing.

Any ideas ? ?

Do you have the same experience when you start Internet Explorer from
the 'no add-ons' icon?

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No Add-Ons)

Do you have the same experience after you have reset Internet Explorer
settings?

Is IE7 configured as your default Browser in Set Program Access and Defaults
(CUSTOM section)?

I was able to open IE with no add-ons . . . and since the Home Page was MSN
I clicked on IE 8, downloaded and installed this latest version. I don't
know what caused my previous problems but am now happily surfing the net
again.

Thanks for the suggestions.
