Yeah, I know better than to try and use logic with Zealots of any kind,
but lost my head for a sec there.lol Thing is, I'm not Anti MS, *nx,
OSX, at all. I just don't like the claims that one or the other is the
be-all, I KNOW better.

One of the main problems claimed about Linux, is hardware drivers. LOL
Well Winders has had PLENTY of it's own problems with that, and not
unlike Linux, it has been mostly vendors at fault. I just purchased a
new Nvidia card for my main computer, and Vista is so happy with the
driver and card the score went from 2.7, with an ATI, to 4.0 with the
Nvidia. (Sadly no "AGP or PCIe, just PCI) However, that same card on the
same machine gets a 2.0 in Win7. The driver is SUPPOSED to be Win7
compatible and compliant, but I venture to say it is NOT totally
compatible. The ATI got a better score in Win7 and is not near the card
the new Nvidia is. So games in Win7 are not so great, but the same ones
run GREAT in Vista. Win7 has NEVER recognized the WIDELY used Realtech
audio on that machine, from BETA to the final release I purchased. As of
today, I still have to use a Vista driver to get it to work. MS and Win7
fault? NO! Intels' fault! "Play all your games" well as of right now,
games are CRAP on my Win7 machine for the time being. ..At least until
Nvidia pulls their heads outa their a** and writes a native Win7 driver
for my card.

But the Zealots will say that Winders never has trouble with drivers,
"it just works" and Linux has nothing but trouble with drivers. BTW, the
Linux install on the same machine, recognized the Nvidia card, sound,
monitor, etc with no problems at all. Oops, well after blackballing the
inferior intel 915 onboard video chipset that is. So there ya go.

G'day

I got off a little better than that. I got $750 for a C64, a 1702
monitor, one 1541 and one 1581 disk drive, and a big box of 5.25"
floppies that I had punched to make them double sided. :)

Ah, a fan of unreliable diskettes! heheheheh Single-sided diskettes are
the ones that failed muster on one side....mostly, anyway.

I'll let go of my old Commodore gear, when they pry my stiff, cold fingers
from it. While putting the drawers back in my computer desk, I found my A64
device! I'd totally forgotten that I had it. Well, I'd planned to keep one
of my Amigas set up, as soon as I can figure out where to do so...and if I
recall correctly, it does an excellent job of emulating the C64....and
several of my favorite games are, as far as I am aware, C64 only.
