Hi all,

Is it possible to create your own album art for a CD made in media player
11?

You mean to display in media player's Library ? Or to print as a CD
cover ? If you want to Paste in album art, select an existing JPEG
image file (ideally square), right-click that, then choose Copy in
windows explorer, and right-click the Album Art icon in WMP then
choose Paste...

Hi Neil,

I was referring to a burnt CD.

Whenever I burn a selection of songs to CD, and play it afterwards in WMP,
there is no album art diplayed...only the generic blank CD & case.

How can burn an album art image with the songs so it will be displayed under
"Now Playing" in WMP 11? (I'm not referring to Lightscribe here)

OK so in many cases WMP won't see a custom burned CD (collection of
tracks) as an identifiable 'Album'.

I think it uses a combination of the track count and track length to
lookup albums online, and to associate that with album art, which can
be replaced.

What was the effect of trying to copy and paste a JPEG image in place
onto the album artwork icon ?

The copy & paste works great for ripped albums.

My burnt CD's usually have a mixture of songs from different albums. I'm
presuming there is no way to apply album art to these custom made CDs?

Are you saying that you re-rip the CD back to media player's library ?
I'd presumed the contents of the CD came from the library in the first
place, but could be wrong.

If you're talking about a mix CD which a friend made, that shouldn't
have any impact as the track (files) will be stored in a single folder
- usually or initially listed as "Unknown Album"

If you can't paste the album art there, you can create a 200x200 pixel
album image - for example, paste the art into the (free) Paint.NET
program http://www.getpaint.net then resize it to 200x200 pixels

Finally, Save-As JPEG format, and save that into the album folder as
an image called "folder.jpeg"

WMP should then pick that up as the album art.

No.

I can't find a way to make a mix CD with WMP 11 and include the album art
too.

Thanks the link by the way.

No, there's really no support within redbook / Audio CD for that.

For commercial CDs, they can register their CD info with AMG / GraceNote
to get that to show up.
