Address Book O/E

I seem to have "lost" original Address Book for O/E - it has been replaced by
Address Book - Main Identity. I have then tried to replace addresses in
Address Book - Main Identity by using previously sent emails, however message
comes up that address already exists and will not accept address I'm trying
to add. Any ideas on how I can reinstall old address book.

Do a search and include Hidden Files and Folders. Search for:

*.wab

If you find the Address Book there, right click on it and send it to My
Documents. Open OE and the open the Address Book and: File | Import |
Address Book (wab) and point to where you saved it.

Any luck? If not, create a new Identity. File | Identity | Add New
Identity. See if the Address Book will import there. If it does, import
all your messages and use that as your primary identity. When you are sure
all is well, you can delete the old identity.

Note: Do not use the word Main in the name of the new identity.

Try an OE group, not an XP general group

If you're happy with using regedit, the value which controls which
address-book is opened is here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4\Wab File Name

The addressbooks are typically under

C:/Documents and Settings\{user}\Application Data\Microsoft\Address
Book\{user}.wab

You may need to 'Show hidden files' in Explorer to get into this folder.
Obviously, replace {user} with your logon.
Once you've found the right one, adjust the registry entry.
