Is there a version of Office that can be loaded on our server that can be
accessed from home?

No, but you could enable remote desktop connections on your systems, then
use VPN to connect to your network and remote into your machine at work.

Yes but it is from Google:

<https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=writely&passive=true&nui=1&continue=http%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2F&followup=http%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2F&ltmpl=homepage&rm=false>

For Microsoft Office, you need to download its trial version and crack
it so that it works n your system without paying!

Hey Susie,

You must be mad (or out of your mind) to suggest editing Microsoft
documents via VPN. Connections are never reliable in most countries
including United States of America.
