Hello, I am using 64 bit Windows 7 professional OS. Can i install 32 bit office in 64 bit Win 7?. I can able to work without any problem? and also please tell me can i install 32 bit programs in 64 bit OS? please clarify. Thanks
The 32-bit version of Office works fine in the 64-bit version of Windows 7. Whether other 32-bit programs will work depends on the program. I haven't had any problems with most of the 32-bit programs I've installed--but a very old one I have, called Band in a Box, wouldn't run. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word Bible Blog: http://word.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "karthick" <karthick@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F6FB7DCC-8314-40F1-9B2C-A8B6877D0EB1@microsoft.com... > Hello, > > I am using 64 bit Windows 7 professional OS. Yes, currently Office suites are only 32 bit programs. Office 2010 will offer 64 bit office versions. > I can able to work without any problem? and also > please tell me can i install 32 bit programs in 64 bit OS? please clarify. Generally speaking, 32 bit programs should run in a 64 bit OS - there are exceptions. Another thing to keep in mind is this - Some install programs are NOT Windows 7 compatible - But, if you run them through a Troubleshoot compatibility method - usually they will correctly install to Windows 7 - here is a step by step to use that method. * Highlight install file - setup-example.exe * Right click on file - click on Troubleshoot compatibility - Detecting Issues - Resolving Issues * Click on Troubleshoot program - The program worked in earlier versions... Click on Next button - Highlight Windows Vista - Click on Next Button * Click on Start the program - Click on Shield icon (install program loads in taskbar) * Complete install program first, then - Click on Next - Save these settings - Close the troubleshooter David > Thanks -- From David Troxell - Product Scope 7.9 - Encourager Software Email - mailtoe_Remove_@_Me_encouragersoftware.com Product Scope 7 Viewer - NO Registration Fee!
