Typing on the smaller keyboard depends a lot on the individual. Some
people adapt to it really well right away. Some others require some more
time. Although I would think most people shouldn't have much trouble
after a week or two.

The other problem that some complain about is the small screen. Some
have problems viewing such a small area. This doesn't get better with
time. Although better glasses might work.

ok. the ones I have seen make me uneasy; I'd want it for real work though
I've been considering using one as a kind of little mail-server at home.
(got an old HP Pavillion doing that duty now.)

I am probably going to hold off though until the prices come down more.

the screens haven't bothered me that much and shouldn't at all with my
relatively new glasses -- didn't know the world was so clear!

But would a wall-eyed guy even FIND the control panel? It would have
to
be a sort of fold-out left-and-right-winged version.
By the way,I bought a laptop. It cost 600 francs. ($550)
The cheapest netbook in the cheapest store here cost
379 francs. Then I bought Office home and student
2010 (I still had 2003 version) online for 60 francs less than the
store price, and
it's amazing! I've never had "publisher" on my PC before!
It is sooooo cool! Me and my husband have our own business,
and the things I'll be able to do with "publisher"!
I have the laptop at home, and just continue to use my own paper
notebook and ink pen in the bus...
When the netbooks cost 150 and less, I'll buy one, though.
Cheers guys, have a lovely summer!

Hi Melanie! I haven't created much in PowerPoint, just use it to view
PowerPoint files. Although MS has a free viewer for that anyway. I just
like MS Office mainly for Word and Excel (I don't like OpenOffice and
StarOffice isn't much better).

I do have publisher, but I never installed it. So you like that one, eh?

They do sell (hard to find netbooks) at around $150. But most of them
are the crappy Windows CE versions with almost no memory, etc in them.
Although they should be fine for all of your typing you want to do. So
that would be a good thing. And if they ever break, I don't think you
will find parts available or even spare batteries. So this would be bad
too.

A better idea IMHO is that you can buy like new netbooks (used of
course) for around this price range. And sometimes refurbished netbooks
in this price range too. This is where I would look if it were I. Sure
beats using pen and paper and retyping everything once again. ;-)

Oh you are sooooo cute, thanks a bunch, you've made my day. How sweet
thou art,
Bob Villa.
I was feeling all cross about a nasty person who has been totally
insulting me
on the Shakespeare forum, and here you are, making me feel all right
again.

Hmm.

Well, that was a BIT too enthusiastic, but what the hell. It's summer,
it's
hot, one goes overboard.

Bye for now.

No blog. A bog maybe, when I'm stuck in it.
A homepage, yes, should be on my Google group profile.
Google me, you may find it...

I wish. Famous AND sweet...

You know what I'd like?
A house by a lake with a garden.
And that everyone I like has a long and
happy and fulfilled life.
But I guess it's more a case of doing
what one wants NOW and making the most
of one's talents NOW...
Anyway, it was really nice talking to you..

Have fun, enjoy your summer!

Best of luck in your endeavors! I am elderly (65) and enjoy good
health...and I am thankful for that. I really can't ask for more,
considering my young children (5x, 15y, 18x, 37x) won't let me get
old!
