WordPress XenForo Style Integration

Elizabeth and I spent the last few days aligning the child theme for WordPress and style in the XenForo community. Most of the work is behind the scenes but will provide easier maintenance.
  • Addition of header_bar at the top of the site
    • Contains login link
    • Contains profile links after logging into the site

  • Coding WordPress menu directly into the XenForo navigation template.
    • This removes the forum menu system.
    • Provides a cleaner navigation menu, matching WP and XF as well as provides more room for primary navigation tabs.

Let us know if something strange is not working for you.

So far everything works as I expect it to work when I see the item on the drop down menue. Good work! Thank you for making my life easier to read and post items on Tux Reports Network. :)

We are about to the point of actually going through the menu items today. Here are a few thoughts:

  • "Community" needs to be front and center. Sadly, I cannot get the WP side to login once this is done.
  • Tablet PC Education is not on the list of sites in the menu. Many others are missing, too.
  • The distinction between blogs and community is not consistent.

Activated Disqus Comments to test XenScripts, XenForo, WordPress, and MediaWiki integration across multiple domains. The instructions are extremely cryptic but we'll see what can be done.

With the help of people in the XenForo community, a php script now sits in the WP Theme that pulls the five latest forum posts. This adds a little more consistency between sites. :)
