Conspiracy theories aside, it was no surprise there has been a rise in gas prices. This happens each time the economy starts to stabilize. In a few weeks the oil companies will announce their record profits.

AP suggests people are changing their driving habits.

In 2011, Americans spent 8.4 percent of their household income on gasoline, or about $4,155, compared with 6.7 percent in 2010, according to experts at OPIS.

Yes, spending $57 per fill up gets attention ($4.30 per gallon) and the price increases are probably not over - summer will bring even higher prices.

How are you changing your habits or are you?

The prices of everything rise, I guess we have to go back the primitive society.

There are numerous opportunities to move forward. Our society could easily shift to other sources of energy if there was a collective will to change. We do not need petroleum to operate all vehicles. Consider the challenge the same as Kennedy telling our country to reach for the moon. We need to reach for gasoline free vehicles.
