Chapter 4 A Learners’ View of Learning

A Learners’ View (ALV) Is Of Choices On The Shortest And Fastest Path To Learning, The Oxygen Of Social Life.

Theme: People learn through choices of social processes that connect two dots.

A Learners’ View (ALV) of Learning in a Nutshell Learners make choices through trial-and-errors that solve (connect two dots) one of five generic problems at a time. Teachers show learners choices for efficient ways to connect dots. These ways can accelerate, increase, and deepen (AID) learning promptly and sometimes dramatically. Social life and social change rest on choices like the most accomplished people have made and do make.

A Learners’ View of Learning (ALV) Refers to the least number of common choices (patterns of social actions) learners make as described by experimental behavioral and social scientists in their reports of learning. This view distinguishes ALV as a social process from behavior and cognition of individuals.

Fundamentals of a Learners’ View (ALV) of Teaching and Learning Fundamentals of a learners’ view consist of qualitative and quantitative descriptions of social actions learners will likely use to learn during instruction by teachers.
