9.7-inch Apple iPad Pro, Order March 24

The 9.7-inch Apple iPad Pro was formally announced today. There were very few surprises, with Apple releases becoming slight adjustments to products already on the market.

“iPad Pro is a new generation of iPad that is indispensable and immersive, enabling people to be more productive and more creative. It’s incredibly fast, extremely portable, and completely natural to use with your fingers, Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. And now it comes in two sizes,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is 6.1mm thin and weighs under one pound. The screen resolution is 2048×1536, compared to the 2732×2048 of the 12.9-inch older sibling. The A9X chip includes a third-generation 64-bit architecture. The Apple iPad Pro has an advanced 12-megapixel iSight camera, capable of shooting 4K video.

Accessories include the Apple iPad Pencil and Smart Keyboard. Models with cellular capabilities will also be available.

The iPad will go on sale March 24, with deliveries expected to arrive March 30.
