Rob Bushway walks through the process of turning on checkboxes next to file names in Windows Vista (http://www.gottabemobile.com/GBMHowToPenTouchFriendlyFileSelectionsInVista.aspx ). This is a time saver for slate and UMPC users.
Go to Start, Computer
Next, go to Organize, Folder and Search Options
Go to View, and scroll down to “Use checkboxes to select items” and check it.
