A bit distracted this AM after tripping over www.linuxpoetry.com ...
Work on OO.o continues. Three of my TAs worked on the spreadsheets. One had never even seen a spreadsheet before. He learned quickly. The TA next to him would just lean over and help him whenever there was a problem. He was actually just keying in data but it was still interesting to watch a person new to a piece of software work.

<rant>I created one document in gnumeric and decided to stop.. The file size was 45K. An equivalent document in OO.o is only 7K. Therefore, I decided to convert the gnumeric spreadsheet over to the OO.o. It didn't work.

Actually, it really upsets me when I can't convert one document written in one application into another one. There really is no excuse for OpenOffice.org not to be able to open a gnumeric spreadsheet. However, it cannot. Instead of getting the spreadsheet there is XML code loaded into the document. Gesh. What a pain. </rant>
