I'm late for work so this will be quick. The new phoenix 0.4 is now on my Libranet machine at home. I simply downloaded the tar.gz file, uncompressed it, and at the prompt typed ./phoenix.

I noticed one thing. While the eterm window was open, I deleted the phoenix files using konqueror. Did the extraction to the phoenix directory and ls in the eterm window. eterm came back saying there werern't any files. Guess there is a refresh problem.

This message is being typed within the phoenix browser.

Later !

After classes today I started the download of Desktop/LX build 60. However, the download speed is extremely slow. I'll wait around and burn the CD so that I can take it home tonight. The install will be done on a test machine at home.

There doesn't seem to be a GNU/Linux gradebook which is a standalone application. Well, Ggradebook is available as 0.91 but it is far easier to use a spreadsheet. I'm looking for something similar to a Windows application that I used last year. I was able to upload the student grades to the website as well as easily calculate the percentage and then have it translated to a grade...

I'm not looking for a web application but a small app for my desknote.

A spreadsheet seems to be the fastest way.
