Using an Intel ICH5R chip.

Has anyone had success getting Linux (any distro) recognizing a pair of SATA drives that are RAIDed using the Intel ICH5R chip on an ABIT IC7 motherboard? Even though I have them set up as a RAID drive in the BIOS the various Linux distros I've tried only see them as the individual drives. I have my Windows XP running on it and I want to setup a multiboot system but can't get Linux to see the RAID drive properly.
