There are so many commands that are possible on the CL that I discover new ones ... uhm ... GNU ones ;-) .. every day ...

chattr is part of the e2fsprogs package and is available from http://e2fsprogs.sourceforge.net

As always check your man pages by typing man chattr at a command line.

Hey I just saw this:

The Ext2 Filesystem Utilities (e2fsprogs) contain all of the standard utilities for creating, fixing, configuring , and debugging ext2 filesystems.
