This question seems to come up often in mailing lists.

Does anyone know of a (good) wysiwyg html generator, along the lines of dreamweaver, but for linux?

Preferably, but not necessarily, free (in either beer or speech senses).

And not mozilla composer !

The answer is no. There is no good wysiwyg html generator.

Start with mozilla composer, copy the code into bluefish or quanta and clean things up so that you are satisfied.

IBM does have a product they purchased but I'm not sure of a link or what happened to it. The last time I looked it was a huge download. I'll snoop around and see if I can find it. In the meantime maybe someone else knows of it.

IBM Lotus Workplace Content Development

I knew there was a press release recently :-)

Press Release (http://www-3.ibm.com/software/swnews/swnews.nsf/n/mmaa5pgj5r?OpenDocument&Site=wssoftware)

Now, this isn't an html editor but content management for businesses or larger websites. I'll keep looking for the Homepage product.

WebSphere Studio (http://www-3.ibm.com/software/awdtools/hpbuilder/linux/) looks promising. I'd like to try it some time....
