View Full Version : Lycoris Build 53
My classroom has five Pentium II 400 MHz computers. There is only 64 MB of RAM and the hard drive is 20 GB. There is an ATI graphics card. Lycoris, Red Hat 8.0 and Mandrake Linux 9.0 have installed nicely on the systems. However, Lycoris Build 53 fails on one of them. The graphical install never starts. RH 8.0 installed on this same box easily. Other version of Lycoris install fine.
OK. Scratch my question since build 60 is now available and I'll try it on the PC.

The reason why Red Hat starts OK is because Anaconda uses a VESA driver if probing fails; Lyzard just terminates abnormally.
Try running the installation in "Don't probe video card" mode, and, if that fails, in "Don't probe any hardware mode". Does this start the installation process OK? If you're forced to use the last installation mode, you'll need to configure Desktop/LX after Lyzard completes - follow these instructions (http://207.251.100.109/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=9).
What sort of ATI cards are we talking about here?
I knew the information was vague. Sorry about that. I was really just posting for the sake of posting. Thanks for answering though.
It would have helped if I'd mentioned that both "Don't probe" options also fail. I thought I could get to it today but alas - there are too many other things on my plate.
