VMware Workstation 4

With the release of 4.01 today, I thought the changelog would be interesting to read. Support for Red Hat 9 and SuSE 8.2 are now included.

As I was looking around this sentence jumped out of the page:

New Linux User Interface. The Linux user interface is completely refreshed and updated and is now as functional as the Windows edition of VMware Workstation.

Hmm... interesting.

Compared to 4.00 the only change seems to be guest support for RH9 and SuSE8.2.

A really big new feature from 3.2 is that you can now run DirectDraw apps and that you can run Windows in 16bit mode while XFree86 runs in 24 or 32bit mode for example. This allows many Windows games to run perfectly and you don't have to load XFree86 seperately in 8bit just to run games such as StarCraft.
