Are you tired of turning on your computer, and seeing the same background? Well, there is a way to change the look and feel of your desktop.
Step #1:All you need to do is right click on your desktop. This should bring up a menu, with the option to "Configure Desktop..."
Step #2: Choose this option.
Step #3: You should now be viewing the KDE Control Module. To the left you will see a menu with the option "Background." Chose this option.
Step #4: The next thing you need to decide is whether or not you want all your desktops to look the same. If you want all your desktops to be the same, make sure that "Common background" is marked. If you don't want all your desktops to be the same, make sure "Common background" is not checked. Note: "Common background" is in the table titled "Desktop." This table is to the left of the image of your monitor.
Step #5: It is now time to decorate your desktop. What do you want your desktop to look like?
1. Color- What colors do you want your desktop? (You should see two horizontal lines underneath the table titled "Desktop". Each one should ba a different color. Click on one of those bars, to change your color. A window should appear. Notice the rows of color. Click on the color you wish to have on your desktop, and press "OK".) If you want to change the other color, do the same thing.
2. Pattern- What color pattern do you want on your desktop? Do you want the color to change from the center out... (To change the pattern all you need to do is click on the combination box marked "Pattern". If yours does not say "Pattern" that is most likely because a pattern is already selected. Click on the combination box. This will bring down a menu. Decide which pattern you want to use by clicking on a pattern, and then viewing the design on the image of your computer screen. Do this untill you find a pattern you enjoy.)
3. Wallpaper- This is avalible with "Common backround" marked, or unmaked. (Choose "Single wallpaper". "Single wallpaper" is underneath the table "Desktop". Then decide which "Mode" you like, Centered, Tiled... Once you have chosen a mode view the "Wallpaper" options, for one you enjoy. Exp. Won-Ton-Soup-3.jpg)

4. Blending- How do you want your design to blend? (Click on the advanced tab, to use the blending option. Underneath the table "Desktop" you will see a combination box. Use the combination box to change the blanding of your desktop.)
5. Balance- How do you want the colors of your desktop to be balanced? ( Underneath the "Blending" combination box you should see a a sliding bar titled "Balance". Use your mouse to slide the bar. Notice that the image of your monitor is changing? Move the bar to where you think the color balance is enjoyable.)
Step #6: Click on "Apply", and then "OK". Do you like your desktop? If you don't you can go back to the KDE Control Module, and retry.
