The download edition of MDK 9.1 was installed last night. Attempts to install the tab extension have failed. I keep getting permission denied.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'll keep doing searches as well as try to figure out what is wrong.

You'll probably need to install the extension as root.
I've had the same problem. The only way to get around it is to install Mozilla as a user.

Tried the MandrakeUpdate to Mozilla 1.3.1 since there was a security advisory. This was installed in /usr/lib/mozilla-1.3.1 as owned by root. Therefore, I changed the owner for mozilla 1.3.1 from root to my user name and this has allowed me to add the extensions. Unfortunately, for a default installation this should not have been an issue. It's hard to believe that others haven't said anything about this -- or have I been asleep on MDK forums?

Most distros seem to have this problem. At least SuSE has it too.

I personally haven't got any idea how this could be solved properly. Maybe RPMs should be made availlable instead of XPIs.
