Yes, I installed it onto my Libranet 2.7 box. It was very straight forward.
Download a 3.7 MB file. Unzip it to a temporary directory. Run sh install.sh as root. Change permissions for the files that were copied to /usr/local/athene and then from an xterm type athene -xclient.
This is extremely fast and the fonts look nice. Screenshots (http://www.tuxreports.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album30&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php) are available.
I'm not able to install software because the Rocklyte site is down (due to being /.ed).
This looks very promising.
