View Full Version : Unsupported VGA card for ASUS P4SDR-VM motherboard

I have an ASUS P4SDR-VM motherboard with an onboard VGA. I had Win 2K Pro installed in my PC. When I got Red Hat Linux 8.0 installed, it showed "Unsupported VGA" in the VGA card section. The rest of the installation went fine. Now, I can see only the command line. When I type "startx", it shows some big error. I am a newbie for Linux. What do I do next ? I checked the ASUS website, it probably does not have any display driver for Red Hat Linux 8.0. Is there any way I can get the kde/gnome desktops working ??

Would appreciate a detailed reply.
Thanks in anticipation.

The issue is the driver for the on-board SIS 650GL. You might try this link and see if it will help. It is for red hat 7.2.
