I recently installed Mandrake 9.0 on a system. Yesterday evening I signed up for the MandrakeOnline feature and scheduled the available updates for download. The web site said the file transfer was to occur around midnight.
This morning, I signed into MandrakeOnline to check the progress. It appears that nothing has happened as the schedule still exists. Can anyone shed light on this Mandrake feature?
Is the scheduled update a cron action on my system or does it take place at midnight from the Mandrake server?
After the rpms are transferred to my system, are they automatically installed as well?
And finally, if there are running processes affected, are they restarted to truly implement the updates or do I need to restart the system to finalize the actions? If I must restart manually, do I just execute the default runlevel init script (i.e. init 5 or whatever)?
Thanks for the info on this.
