It has been delayed long enough.

Here is the changes since 0.0.4:

JAMD 0.0.5 (http://www.boycottmicrosoft.net/jamd/forum/viewtopic.php?t=154)

**** NOTE TO CURRENT 0.0.4 USERS ****
-------------------------------------------------

While an upgrade installation is possible by using the advanced installation method, it is not officially supported.

Users that opt to do this should keep the following points in mind:
1.) Kbear and Kopete will not get installed, and gFTP and Gaim will remain on your systems.
2.) Your menu structure may contain items that no longer work, or you may have duplicate menu items.
3.) Many of the fixes will not get applied. By default an upgrade doesn't overwrite config files, with a better safe than sorry approach.

In my opinion, if you have applied the updates to your system, and applying the work arounds from the forums and mailing lists, then 0.0.5 doesn't really offer you much, and there is probably no reason to switch to it.

OK. This sounds exciting. I reinstalled JAMD last night in order to play with it some more.

Do you think the i810 issue with vertical stipes is fixed in X11?

mmm, not aware of the specifics of that. Did you enquire in the JAMD forums or search RedHat?

Should have been more clear. It is possible to fix vertical stripes after the install.

Insert into /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

Option XaaNoOffScreenPixmaps

Or in JAMD case, insert into XF86Config file...

Just wanted to razz you for not having a link to these forums and your site. I see where we rank ... sniff...

Is that counter on there for the symaptico server or just that page?

Thank you for reminding me, it's time for a little house cleaning. And the oversite will be recitified.

Just that page, I cheated when I installed it, the count started at 1310000. I am actually surprised myself somedays it gets about 500 hits.

Now I feel better. Thanks.. LOL.

BTW: JAMD 0.0.5 install on the i810 was fine, with the exception of the vertical striping.... I want to play with it on an i815 board tonight.

Actually three visitors followed the link today from your site to here ... not bad ! In fact, that is more than some of the big players where maybe only one or two come from their links. Then again -- so you don't get a swollen head -- PCLO, DistroWatch, NewsForge still manage to bring more

Just teasing ya ...

I'm playing with VectorLinux tonight.. Very nice indeed. And this is just a beta.

JAMD 0.0.5 is also nice. I'm going to play with it tonight too on an i815 board with a DVD drive and see how it performs. I'm anxious to try out some of the package updating because I had trouble with it under 0.0.4

If you look through the "Penguin Projects" area, you'll find that LPH's i810s aren't exactly flavor of the month :?

(I'm not sure about the specifics, though.)

The stripes are best seen by opening multiple tabs under Mozilla and then opening Konqueror. Not all distros show this behavior to the same extent.

The motherboard is a Gigabyte board with the i810 chipset.
