This work in progress distro is one of those pleasant surprises you stumble accross, and go WOW, that was easy, and everything just works.
And if there is something in particualar you need that's not included, it's only an APT away. :D

Some of what Jim Lucha says about the what and why of his developement.
There are already numerous distros out there for power users that include development tools. JAMD is also not a general purpose distro. There are already a number of those as well.
JAMD is targeted for a very niche audience.
JAMD is to best utilized by a Red Hat user that is going to setup a computer for Uncle Joe that has never sent an email before. A grandmother that has never stepped foot into a CompUSA, nor will she ever.
That sums up very generally his target audience. I have discovered that in addition to the installed simplicity, and the addition of apt and synaptic as JAMD's file manager, under the 'hood' is an endless amount of posibility that combines the simplicity of ease of use, with the power of RedHat, allowing the user to grow in comfort at his or her own pace.
To my limited experience with linux, it's like having tamed the Giant into something a little more manageable.

No doubt about it -- apt-get is just plain wonderful {sighs}
jamd is really a very good distro - it's really worth trying it!
It's the best (or one of the best ;-) distro's I've tried during the last time - and I've tried a lot, you can believe me! :-)

I too have tried J.A.M.D and decided to leave it on one of my computers. This distro is very easy to install and easy to run!
I would highly recommend this distro to individuals who want to give
Linux a try. The Nvidia drivers went smoothly and networking went
together like a "piece of cake".
