My cousin used Linux several years ago and then stopped. He returned to Windows because it was easier. The other night we were chatting and he decided to try Linux again.

He can probably describe his experiences better but he's being "shy" and not posting here. Therefore, I'll try ... and then he can correct me when something isn't correct.

First, he tried Red Hat. There was failure with the install. He tried several different mirrors. The media tested fine but it wouldn't install. Finally he tried the FTP install of SuSE and he reported that he was happy and excited. He's now primarily using SuSE.

Apparently the camera works in SuSE Linux but NOT in windows. Now there is a switch !

Another convert? We hope he sticks it out longer than his last attempt a few years ago. SuSE is a great OS distribution.

I've been using Mandrake 8.1 for several months now. I just made the brake to go winindependent in November.

My wife bought me SuSe 8.1 Pro for Christmas, I love it, I only had two small problems.

One my HP laptop didn't won't to work the touchpad with SuSe, So I'm use another distro over there still. Two, My desktop had a ATI vidio card that SuSe didn't have the driver for, But I swapped the card from my wifes machine for a Voodoo card and every things great.

Of course my wife don't mind because she still runs Windoze Mi :-)
