Some of the Alt Linux developers will hate to see so many references to Mandrake in the overview. They'd say - yes, we use some of the Mandrake GPL tools, such as the installer and configuration tools, but Alt is not based on Mandrake! Alt is based on Sisyphus, the open repository maintained independently of Mandrake.

Developers generally hate to be associated with a product that has been labeled as a "clone" of something.

Otherwise a very nice overview :-)

Dad just changed it to say 'Based on Sisyphus' now instead of 'Mandrake'! Thanks for noticing that!
